Tri-County Central Labor Council's Vice President Gary Robbins, UFCW/ICW Local 251c made sure that workers were not forgotten at a Chenango County Economic Roundtable with Senator Kirsten Gillibrand on January 15.   The event was sponsored by Senator Gillibrand, who invited the Labor community  to send a representative as well as businesses and elected officials. *

About 150 union and community supporters participated in a silent march to support free speech rights in response to the suspension without pay of IAFF Local 921 president Marty Meaney.  Among the union marchers were members  from CWA,  NYSUT, PEF, SEIU200United,  Teamsters,  and others who joined Firefighters from around the region.

Oswego Council President Dan Dougherty reports that the Council has endorsed candidates for local offices.  The Council only considered candidates who submitted a questionnaire, and in did not endorse in all races.  See the complete list here ny.aflcio.org/cnylabor or click "News From Our Labor Councils" at left.
